My parents left for Las Vegas earlier this morning (around when I went to work), so I'm here by myself this week until Sat. My dad's going there on business and my mom goes with him so they're together, I'm getting used to being alone, I'm sure during the week it will be easier for me, I'm really used to having people around.

I just listened to David Cook's radio interviews, still have one more I haven't heard, and they were great. I loved all the pictures, videos, mp3s everyone posted on David Cook Day (May 9), and the days after that...I so want to go to the Kansas City show now...He seems so happy to be in the Top 3 and even to have made it this far, and so thankful to all of his fans. I'm going to write to him. Not sure when he'd get it and if he'd even read it, but I'll try. Someone on the american idol boards wrote to him back around the Top 24 time and just got a response back. He must be getting so much mail now! But at least I'll let him know a little about me and about one of his fans.

I work a lot next week, also planning to see my brother sometime this week, so I'll be pretty busy. I'll get to see all the tv shows too, Bachelor (yeah, haven't seen it recently but it's the final show), American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty (usually watch with my mom), Desperate Housewives tonight...Oh, and I'm going to be sending out checks tomorrow for some David Cook bracelets and another for that fund they set up for his brother, I think the one that is going towards another flight out to Hollywood, or something like that. This is definitely the first time I'm sending money for an Idol contestant or their family, but it's a cool thing to do.

I got home a little while ago, and checked my friends list, and there are A LOT of posts over on davidcookai7. David's homecoming/hometown visit is today (as well as the others-anyone know anything about theirs?) so people are posting pictures, videos, mp3s, I love it. I really feel like I'm there in Blue Springs...

He must be having such a great time, he looked really good in the short parts of the videos I saw. Did some interviews, still has that parade, and the Royals game...I got some t-shirts to make for the tour too, so that should be fun. It's David Cook day! And now back to americanidol.com or my friends list for more updates. The parade starts at 3:30 CST, and I forget what's after that...oh, and two of the songs for next week were announced, looking like it will be a good week! Can't wait for Tues.

Here I am again, I'm done with school, all my prerequisites, now I just wait to start graduate school. I'm going to have to move everything into the city/my apt, get the financial aid set, etc. Should be a lot, but I feel ready. I'm just so used to living here and having my car and being home, it's going to take a while to adjust to everything. I'll probably be online a lot towards the beginning..

Tomorrow is David C's homecoming/hometown visit, as well as the other two in the Top 3, but I really want to go to his though I can't. I did check mapquest, it's about 18 hours from here. So if I wasn't working I could have driven through the night if I wanted to, but I'll see him on tour I guess. And this year I really want to meet him, it'd be cool to meet some of the others too, but I'll see if I can get to a venue early to meet him...I'm still thinking of writing to him, just have to figure out what to write, I wonder if he reads all the letters he gets?

I'm thinking about getting t-shirt(s) tomorrow after work to make for the Idols Live show. And I have an idea of what I want to put on it already too. Should be fun. I'd love to make a trip to KC or Tulsa or somewhere if that worked out, to see the Idols show too, maybe meet other fans...

David's hometown visit/homecoming

I was wondering if anyone would be able to get mp3/videos of the performances David does tomorrow? I know they'll be streaming on myfoxkc.com but I'm hoping to get versions I can download. I'll see if I can watch some on that website tomorrow, otherwise I'll look around the internet for his stuff from his hometown visit. And will that Royals game be broadcast nationally or just in KC and Baltimore?

So want to be there tomorrow. Next time there's something like this I'll have to plan it. If I wasn't working I could possibly leave EARLY in the morning to get there by like 9...

one more, idols tour

Who is going to the Idols Live Tour this summer? Anyone want to go to Philly (if they're still planning on touring here)? Someone posted over on americanidol.com that the Philly tour date was switched to Trenton, NJ and it was apparently confirmed by a venue or something. If that happens, I might want to go to the Atlantic City tour stop. Maybe see some of the idols on the boardwalk (didn't some people see idols on the boardwalk one season?). And I got to thinking about the Soul Patrol and what they ended up doing at tour stops for Taylor, all meeting up and getting rooms at that hotel in Wilkes-Barre for the last tour stop, and Taylor performing with LiMBO after that show...good times. And then I thought about David C doing something like that...

How much fun would that be to stay in a hotel with other David C fans for his home town show? I'd love to go to that one! Have to check my school schedule, kind of sucks I'll start my graduate program in July when the tour is going on, but maybe I can go anyway, and it will work out. I just really want to go to see David this summer! Only like maybe 6 of the 10 going on tour anymore, but for the people I like it will be worth it. Season 5 was a lot of fun.

thoughts on ai

Just watched the Top 4/Top 3 results show of American Idol. I do like the Top 3, it would have been cool if it was all guys, but I guess this is how the votes went. And the person eliminated looked so happy, which was nice. I liked him. So David C (for one) will be going home this Fri to Blue Springs, and they're already planning for it, and I SO want to go but I have my final tomorrow night and then work on Fri.

I guess I'll see him on the tour, or if he goes out and tours on his own after the show. I said this about Taylor when it was about this point in his season, and still haven't met him (I did see him live, GREAT show), but with David I hope to actually meet him. I loved that Beatles Love montage they showed of the idols this week, and I would have loved to be there too, but it was cool to see. And I'm thinking I wouldn't mind David C winning the whole thing, he does seem to really enjoy being there, and he wants to win...

I did think about him coming back to perform on upcoming seasons of American Idol. That's going to be so cool if they do it, having him perform for all these contestants who could be just like him right now...and I can't wait for next week to see what he does! I wonder what he's going to pick, what the judges choice will be, same with the producers...any ideas? Any thoughts on what he should do? I have no idea. But let's hope he (and the others) have a great time at home, enjoy it, come back and rock next week and then we have the finale! It went by so fast.

And I'm seriously considering writing to David C...I don't think I sent anything to any other idol during the American Idol season, so it might be a good time to do that. I did send something to Taylor but that was after the season was over. What should I write?

That was a good show, American Idol. I'm not sure if I want to put anything in here that might be considered a spoiler, but over on americanidol, it's looking like one of the guys is getting voted off tomorrow. I don't know, I thought he was good. And David C rocked the second song. I wanted it to be longer. Better be a studio version of it! The first song I wasn't really into. Definitely makes up for the Andrew Lloyd Webber week...

I'm completely done with sociology, and I just have a final left for anatomy and physiology. I'm going to see if I can find the people studying tomorrow, and I'll go over the stuff again tomorrow, and then I'm taking the final Thurs night. Really looking forward to being done with everything.

Second time I've actually voted for David C. Most of the time it was busy (on my cell phone), but just recently I got through every time for a minute or so. We'll see, he should stay around, and I REALLY want to go to his hometown visit...but I guess I'll have to go see him on tour, and visit his hometown eventually, and possibly see him perform after Idol...

I'm all done with sociology, and almost done with anatomy and physiology. I studied really hard for this last test and got a B (80). That was with the extra credit questions. This class is so hard...I'm looking forward to the final being over and hopefully I get at least a 70 on that. Now I can just focus on that though and be done with it. I'll probably check out the library tomorrow to see if I can find the other people who I've studied with, to review for the final. That might help. At least I can get a C in one prerequisite, it was really good I ended up with a B or B- in my anatomy and physiology 1 course.

And I keep checking my friends list for spoilers on American Idol tonight but they only have one for one contestant. Apparently David C is going to sing some song that is more rock, one he could do with the guitar and one without. Looking forward to his songs tonight and seeing what he and the others sing. Should be a good night. I like a lot of those songs from that Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame list, so we'll see. And I wonder who's going home...Is it going to be the three guys or will they have Syesha in there with two guys? Will it be a David C/David A finale? Probably if they both get through this week. We will see, I should vote...

Edit: Should I check the song spoilers list??

No, I didn't celebrate, actually stayed home today so I could study for my tests tomorrow and do more for my final on Thurs. My parents went out though. I'm not sure what I'm going to do next week when they're away in Vegas, my brother might come home for a little which would be nice for the company, maybe I'll plan to go shop or something, or look around for stuff on Tues/Thurs, and plan stuff for that weekend?

American Idol tomorrow, and it's a good theme. Really looking forward to it. And they sing two songs each. I like the Top 4, looking forward to seeing what they chose.

I have a couple of new people on my friends list now, because of a friending meme over in davidcookai7, so I thought I'd just put that out there...

I've been studying hard for the past week or so, I can't wait to have my tests/final over with. Looking forward to my sociology class being completely done with tomorrow after the test. I was so looking forward to this day since the beginning of the semester when I first sat in this class, and here it is. Just need to get at least a B in the class and I should be good. And I'm doing really well with the anatomy and physiology, I should do well on our last test, and even the final. I just have to review my notes and stuff for that.

Someone's covering for me tonight, so I don't work until Fri, which does help with my studying. Maybe I'll do more final studying later this afternoon since I have the afternoon free.

I so want to go to David C's hometown visit this Fri (assuming he's in the Top 3), but I'm working, and I have my anatomy/physiology final Thurs night (I think?) so I couldn't get there anyway, but it'd be cool. Have to wait for the tour I guess. And if any of you want to meet up then or before then sometime, that'd be fun. I'd be up for meeting more fans. So that's about it, I'm also updating my iTunes since it got deleted when I tried something about a week ago, so I'm loading CDs on and importing them.

end of the semester

I have a week left of school-my last classes today!, then tests next week and my final. I've really been studying for anatomy and physiology. I'm starting to feel like a med student. It's definitely interesting but you just have to put so much time and effort into it. Let's see...this week, another good episode of American Idol, I like our Top 4 and I'm looking forward to the theme next week. Songs from the rock and roll hall of fame book, which will be good for all of them I think, especially David C...

And speaking of him, if/when he makes it to the Top 3, I'd so love to go to his hometown visit. Except I'm working that Fri and wouldn't know who to go with, but it'd be a fun trip to take. Maybe Tulsa for the last AI show? Anyway...I'd really like to get to Blue Springs, they're actually already planning his visit and preparing for it. Anyone want to go with me? Are the Idol contestants still around in their hometowns that Sat? I could go then...

So that's about it, still working and trying to get my shift on Mon covered so I can study...not only do I have the A&P final but I have a sociology test, though there won't be as much studying with that and I already have an A average in the course. But it's just something added on top of what I have to do for A&P. I'm really looking forward to this being over, I'm trying to focus on the schoolwork and not even get on the computer much so we'll see how I do with that...I'll be around though.

This is the last week of classes, only 2 more days left. I'm excited about that, except I'll have to really study for my tests/final. And I'm not sure when we get those evaluations for our teachers, but I guess we will soon...looking forward to filling out the one for sociology. I still have to let my manager know about grad school, and that I'll probably have my last day be June 1. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

There's probably more to update, but I'm going to leave soon. Not really looking forward to the conference call I have to do tonight, since it's apparently an HOUR, but we'll see. American Idol tonight! And I might even vote to see if the contestants recorded their own "thank you for voting" messages.

help?

Can anyone help me with iTunes? It hasn't been opening for me for a couple of days now, and I just went to apple support and tried fixing it with their steps and now iTunes isn't recognized on the computer or something. I can't open it now and some kind of error message comes up. I thought some of you who were good with technology might be able to help. I do have a mac and it's a newer one too. Would really appreciate it! I might have to go to one of those one-on-one classes at the apple store to see what's going on with this.

Edit: Ok, just installed a new version of iTunes, it opened, but now I have no songs on there. I guess I'll have to get all my mp3s back into that program and burn my CDs back on there again...

I've been listening to mp3s recently of American Idol or David Cook...apparently during Hollywood Week, Robbie and Syesha also sang "Everything I Do". This season seems like it's gone by so fast, I wonder what Hollywood week was actually like for everything, would have loved to see more of David C and Jason Y, but that's all over now. So looking forward to the tour this summer, and now I actually want to go and possibly go to more than one. My mom actually said she might go with me, maybe in Philly or Atlantic City, so I have to check on those dates again.

I miss all the posts like every day on both davidcookai7 and americanidol, the polls, pictures, questions, comments...I guess I'll get more after Tues/Wed this week like we usually do, since the show will have happened so there will be stuff about what happened on the show, etc. And the hometown visits are next week already (I think). So soon, and I'd love to go though I'll probably work that weekend, maybe next year. I'll definitely visit Tulsa, and Blue Springs, I can't remember exactly who on my friends list said they want to go there because of David C, but it's the same with me. Oh and Omaha, and those are some big cities anyway that I'd like to see.

And a couple of days ago, I got a comment on a post from a while ago, supposedly from Jason Yeager. I'm starting to think it was really him, since he mentioned his CD he's working on, the diner...so I sent him a myspace message asking if it really was him, and that I'd definitely love to see him at the diner and see him in Branson...

So, updating...trying to think of when I last updated. I think it was Tues? Something about AI? But anyway, not too much going on, Thurs I just had my Anatomy and Physiology class because our Sociology teacher never showed up, so that was kind of cool, just sitting there with the other people in the class (really!). And I worked like all day today, stayed an extra hour, and I'm going in at 8 in the morning on Sun, so I'll have 6 hours then...

And I was thinking during my drive to work about this season of American Idol, and started thinking of the other seasons and if I've liked a contestant as much as I like David C this year...there was Clay in Season 2, Taylor in Season 5 (though it wasn't until the Top 5 or so), Blake last season, but I've never watched a season from the beginning to the end, and so I haven't really been following a contestant for this long. And before David, it was Jason Y this season. And I haven't heard too much about him, except that he's singing sometime this summer at some show. And this picture in my icon I got from photobucket, not sure who's it was but I credited it with the icons, if you know who's it is let me know.

I wonder how long I'll follow David C's career too, because usually I follow the person for maybe a few months after Idol and then the next season starts or I find something else and follow that and get into it. Hopefully he tours around and I get to see him though, I'm not sure if I'm going to the Idol tour although now I would really like to. Or go to see if I can meet them before/after. That touring around has to be so much fun for all of them...

I think I've really liked him since his audition, though during the Top 24 and 20 weeks I was focused on Jason Y and still thinking about him when he left, but then I got into David C. And he's changed so much since the audition, he seems to have changed his personality as well as his appearance, and I like the new look and everything although I do kind of miss his old style. Oh and it's so cool he's also left handed and that he plays guitar left handed, since not many people do...I think I'd like to try that sometime...

downloads

Does anyone know about downloading mp3 files? I do have a mac, and haven't been able to download files for a couple of days now, from different sharing sites...The file just opens on the same screen with quicktime, but I've been able to download files like this before. I'm not sure what I need to do. Any help would be really appreciated, people with macs, what do you do for this kind of stuff?

Again, really appreciate any help. I thought I'd post about it so maybe someone would see this and be able to help.

pre idol CDs

I'm posting a few places about this, really want David C's pre-idol music! Apparently you can't download some of his Cds up on walmart.com if you have a mac. Does anyone know of any way to get his other Cds downloaded? Looking for his Axium ones, I have The Story Thus Far, and I have Analog Heart. Just need the others. Anyone who can help, thanks!

American Idol hometown visits

Someone posted over on americanidol.com about the hometown visits, and asked who was planning on going...if David C gets to the Top 3, which he probably will, I'd like to go to the hometown visit. Although it's pretty far from here and I'm not even sure when they do those. Does anyone know? I figure it's in about three weeks or so, since they have 6 contestants left, and they'll have three in a few weeks, but I haven't figured out exactly when that is yet. And I thought I wouldn't be as into this show after Jason Y left, I've seen all the episodes (except Idol Gives Back, I think), and I am really into it. Not sure I want David to win though, only because of that winning song, and possibly being held to the AI contract.

And I worked today. Working a lot next week, long hours, most shifts with the one shift I don't really like as much, so hopefully it goes well. A little more than a month left of this job! And today actually wasn't that bad, although we ran out of coffee at one point, were so busy like the whole time I was there, and I was on register for about 7 hours (total), but for some reason I wasn't as frustrated as I usually get...

election 08

I got a call from a friend around 6:45 tonight, asking if I wanted to go into Philly to see Obama. He was around Independence Mall/the National Constitution Center speaking, so I drove into the city and met her. Got to see him for about a half an hour, maybe more. It was interesting, it's really getting interesting in PA now. It's the first time in like 30 years I think that this state has mattered in the primary. I'm not even registered Dem or Rep, but it was cool to see. Last time I went to hear someone speak, it was in college and our Democrats group went to the University of MD to hear Howard Dean, that was cool.

So it was good to see her and also be somewhat a part of this primary season, even though I'm not voting on Tues. At work today, some woman came in and wanted to put up a flyer about Obama speaking in Wynewood (sp?) tomorrow, and a coworker was really excited to get Obama stuff, and the woman gave her a yard sign, and our manager likes Obama...I'm not sure who I would vote for if I was registered. I still have to get info on McCain for the general election.

And work was actually good, worked with people I like (which does make a difference), was so nice out today, just a good day overall which was nice.

Oh, and during the last Democratic primary, I was in college and really wanted Edwards to make it. I so would have wanted to hear him speak, Obama almost reminded me of him but it was different. And this time Edwards was different, I didn't even like him this time around. It's very exciting having the candidates here though. Who do you guys like in this election and why? I still need to decide.

results!

I have to post about American Idol tonight also. This is like the first results show I really really liked. I was so happy with the bottom 2, although Syesha shouldn't have been there, but it was ok since she was sent back first. Which I was happy with, and then Brooke and Kristy are in the bottom 2. I really didn't care who left, until that moment...

Kristy says something about at least she made it to the Top 10. And then the person staying is...Brooke. So happy, and I know people over on americanidol are happy too. Couldn't wait to see what all the comments over there were. I liked their group song and that Ford commercial song. It's going to be so nice not seeing Kristy on this show anymore! And I almost hope David A wins the whole thing, only because I don't want to see David C sing one of those winner's songs, and I wouldn't want him to have to release anything like it. And it looks like David A will win since both Davids are still in the competition. But David C said he wants to win...

So that was great, I filled out this entrance interview on Temple's website for financial aid. Getting that together. And I went to give paperwork to the real estate company today for the apt.

And I think I want to see the American Idol tour again this year, I'll see, but I'd need people to go with and everything, and I'd have to see KLC again. Anyone want to go though? Would get to see David C, Michael, Jason, David A, Syesha...

vote for David!

My first post about American Idol in a while. I'm voting again tonight for David C, we really need to vote for our favorites now so they don't get voted off like Michael last week! But anyway, he did well tonight, I'm not sure it was as good as some other performances, but the judges liked it, and his brother got to be there, which must have been so great for his family. So he was emotional, as I could imagine, having his brother there and having really good comments from the judges. And he really wants to win it, so I'm hoping he does and also that he would get a good song for if he won...but he could really do great things with any song I'm sure.

Voting's just about over, and I'm thinking Kristy is going to be around longer, but if she's in the bottom three with Brooke and Carly that would be so cool. I don't like Brooke or Carly as much now as I did towards the beginning, they haven't been as good but I don't like their personalities as much when they talk back after the judges give their comments. Just annoyed me, and Brooke looked pissed off when the judges were talking giving her negative comments, which I guess I understand but still...So we'll see, doubt Kristy leaves, but hopefully.

Tomorrow I meet with the real estate agency that owns the apt I want to rent, giving them my deposit and stuff like that. Then I'll see what happens with the application and we'll handle that. Also have a form to fill out for Temple financial aid. I'll get paperwork sometime in May for my courses so I can register, this stuff is exciting. So ready to be in the city and go to school, be done with work...

New icon...so I'm going to Philly on Wed to meet with the real estate company who owns the apt I'm going to take over in June. Talked to them this morning about everything, and it sounds like I can just go on Wed to sign stuff or give them the check, and I'll find out when I can take over and everything. This should be fun. And, I emailed Temple's OT dept, about registration, and I should get something in the mail after May, so that's good to know.

I work tonight from 5:15 to 11 (or close), then I don't work again until Fri and Sun. Hopefully I get nice customers this week...

And I've been keeping up with my studying, for Anatomy and Physiology, since I need a B- or better to get into the OT school. I should do well since I really got a lot of it done yesterday and I'll be keeping up with it. Sociology is so easy though when the tests come around I look over everything, only one more test and one more written assignment to do for that course! Looking forward to that being over, and I'm looking forward to doing the evaluations on the professor.

I think I'll end work around June 1, maybe talk to my manager about that soon since June 1 is a Sun, might be a good day to end on. I'm not sure when I'd want to end but that might be easy since it's the end of our week.

I went into the city again today with my mom, looking around at apartments. We found one that I'm planning to take over in June, it's right near the Kimmel Center, right near Broad St., in this brownstone, where a lot of other young people live, really nice place. So I need to get stuff for the apt, want to go look for new sheets for my bed and stuff like that. Still have to figure out the school loans too, and all the other stuff with grad school, but it is nice being done with looking around for a place.

I just thought I'd update since I haven't in a while. I need to make an icon of the city skyline too, should do that. And we got lunch with my brother at a cool place, it's going to be fun to live in the city. Looking forward to that. Not much else going on now, still working and school, that's about it.

Work's ok, we have the new (old style) cups, grinding and brewing coffee in a different way, so we have to be on top of it like all the time now, but it's cool to talk to the customers about it. It's been relatively good, still have a few things I don't like about it but overall it's pretty good. I like having the big bullets of coffee on our floor though, and grinding it up and stuff like that, it's pretty cool. And I've been getting to talk to people about the new roast which is fun.

I was in the city earlier to see a couple of living options/apts, and I'm getting ready soon to go back to the city for dinner with family. It should be nice to see everyone. The two situations looked good, one was in a higher rise building and the rooms were pretty big, and the place looked nice. The other was a brownstone, and two rooms were below street level but it looked pretty nice, though I'm not sure I would want to live there. After seeing those, I walked over to where the Temple shuttle picks people up, to see how the walk would be. If I could get the shuttle from Broad and Arch or Broad and JFK, that would work out nicely.

And I saw trees that reminded me of this icon, which I now have saved as my cell phone background. Going to shower soon and head back into the city in about a half hour with my parents, and a few of the people I'm going to see I've never met before. I hope I can meet everyone else tomorrow after I work. The family is going to brunch at the Four Seasons, so I'm thinking I could meet them afterwards. One of my dad's cousins is from CA, who I'd like to meet while he's here. His other cousin I met for the first time a couple of years ago in Boston. Should be interesting this weekend.

Still have to study for my test on Tues, I only have like a month left of school, which means about 8 more classes. Went by fast...
